Philly Ladies' Cooking Across America

Georgia Peach Cobbler Bites by Claudia

Happy 4th!! What an incredible privilege we have to live in this wonderful country! As a naturalized citizen of United States, I must tell you, there is no other country like this anywhere in the world!

I have so much to share with you....I don't even know where to start! Last two weeks have been quite crazy with so many fun activities. Many blog posts comin' but here are some photos from Cooking Across America, Savannah! This was organized by Claudia Signal-Leon, an ardent Philly Lady at Real Women of Philadelphia community. I was privileged to be part of this experience to cook with seven other fantastic cooks at Ms. Paula Deen's condo in downtown Savannah. This was a wonderful prelude to attending the RWoP Live Event this past Thursday.

Whew....we were so full after tasting all these wonderful dishes!

I was not chosen to be one of the 16 finalists on RWoP casting competition, however, I had the time of my life cooking and getting to know these Philly ladies! Thank you Claudia, Marty, Amy, Kristin, Coleen, Kim, and Aryen, for a fantastic time!

And here is a video clip done by Claudia:

Stay tuned for blog post on a fantastic Afternoon Tea hosted by Amy Hughes.....

  1. Awww, Kay, such beautiful photos! Almost makes me feel like a professional cook! Thank you so much for your wonderful hospitality, for your wonderful food, and your wonderful photography! I made your Savannah Tomato Sandwiches for 4th of July & everyone loved them! Up here, in the north, they aren't familiar with actually "peeling" tomatoes! (ha ha). The sanwiches were a huge hit! Thanks for sharing your recipe, and thank you for being such a gracious hostess to all of us during our incredible visit to Savannah! We Philly ladies love you! Marty

  4. sorry dear Kay, but Claudia's Peach Cobbler Bites look WAY more appetizing than those Shrimp and Cheese Grits of yours. i mean to say, that shrimp looks like it might just reach out and strangle me or something.

you know i'm just making sure all that cooking in Ms. Deen's kitchen doesn't go to your sweet head... ;) and you also know i'm so very proud of you. ♥

  5. I'm glad you had a good time even if they made the silly decision not to choose you as the Ultimate Queen of All Things Culinary. =) And I'm so glad we get to continue to enjoy your talent on your blog! The pictures are making me one hungry girl this morning. That pecan encrusted pork especially . . .

  7. Thank you kindly, Marty, Laurie, Claudia, and Jenna!

@us5, just be glad I spared you from adding roasted octopus tentacles, mussels, & all the other seafood you LOVE... ;)

@ Mary, so great to connect with you! Your black bean and corn salsa is right up my alley! Thank you for your visit.

  8. I found out about your blog on the Tasty Kitchen site. Love your blog! I'm glad you had a great 4th of July. I totally agree with your sentiments about America. Despite the fact that we have come upon hard times, we are truly blessed to live in this nation.

All the food in those pictures look so good! I'm getting hungry now. I'm looking forward to the afternoon tea post.
